To wrap it, make sure to start at your hand by your forefinger and thumb and then work your way back to your wrist; the goal is to demobilize as much of your hand and wrist while it is healing. Just remember to make sure that the bandage is tight enough to hold it in place but not so tight that it cuts off your circulation.

Don’t Use It

In addition to wrapping your wrist, try to avoid using it too much until you come into see Dr. Smith. For instance, if you play a sport, take a break until after you get the go-ahead from Dr. Smith. If you work at a computer and need your hand to type, try to position your wrist so that you don’t have to move it while you are typing.
