What to Expect from your Surgical Consultation

Cosmetic Surgery East Brunswick NJ Here at our office, Dr. George Philip Smith offers a variety of different surgical procedures ranging from removal of extra digits to breast surgeries. And although each of the surgeries that we offer are unique in their own ways, they all have one thing in common: they require a consultation. So, what is a consultation and what can you expect when you come to see Dr. Smith?

What’s a Consultation?

Every experienced surgeon knows just how vital a consultation is. The main purpose of a consultation is to 1) make sure you’re healthy enough for a surgery, and 2) make sure Dr. Smith knows exactly what you want from surgery and how to give you the best results possible.

What Can I Expect?

You shouldn’t be worried about your consultation appointment at all. Traditionally, Dr. Smith will have you change into a dressing gown if necessary so that he can look at the surgical site. Then, after he looks at the area, he will ask you questions, you can ask him questions, and you will basically have an easy conversation about your surgical options and the results that you are hoping for.

How Can I Prepare?

We encourage all of our patients to come into their consultation with a list of questions they want to have answered. Although you can call our office at any time with questions, having them answered during your consultation will help put your mind at ease and make you feel a little more informed.

Additionally, we encourage patients to bring pictures of the results they are hoping to achieve. For instance, if you want a breast augmentation, you can bring pictures of celebrities who have the size of breasts you want.

A surgical consultation is a fast, easy, and effective way for Dr. Smith to ensure that you get the results you want. If you would like to learn more about any of our surgeries, contact our Staten Island office today to schedule your appointment. Call us today: (718) 608-1111.
